Women on Body Hair: 5 Areas That Make Them Cringe

Have you ever wondered what kind of male body hair turns women off?
Sam Stilson discoverd five more areas you need to trim.

Every man has body hair.  Whether it’s on our arms and legs or sprawled across our chests, even the blondest of blonde men have a patch somewhere on their body.  Since this is a universal truth, women, the near-hairless members of our species, tend to forgive our furry regions...except in a few choice cases.  There are certain spots of a man’s body where the presence of hair is a huge turn-off.  As testified by the women interviewed for this article, if you’ve got hair in the following places, either bust out a razor, go to a waxing place or shrug it off and make them suffer; the choice is yours.

Feet and Toes

While we all have some hair on our toes and feet, some men have a little too much.  “If the hair on their big toe touches the floor, it’s not so pretty,” says Carrie, 24.  “Hobbit feet are a major turn-off.”  Hairy feet does not top the list of many women’s turn-offs, but if your tootsies are out of control, it might come back to haunt you.  No one will be breaking up with someone over Sasquatch feet, but if your relationship is on the rocks and she’s making a list of pros and cons, having feet that look like an Irish setter will definitely be a con.  Grab a pair of scissors and trim your little piggies, or better yet, keep your socks on. (shh Kitty hates socks on during sex)

Nose Hair

For most men under thirty, nose hair is not an issue.  It stays in your nose where it belongs, short, blonde and largely unseen.  However, if you are one of the unlucky few that has alfalfa sprouts coming out of his nostrils, you need to invest in a trimmer.  It takes all of five seconds to remedy the problem, and women (hell, men too) will appreciate it.

Neck Hair

“Body hair on a dude doesn’t really phase me a ton, but I’d say neck hair is weird,” says Flora, 23.  “When you can see it protruding from the shirt, it’s like a woolly mammoth.  Both the front and back of the neck is gross, but the back is worse.”  Chest hair is one of the forgivable regions for male body hair, but when it spreads beyond your chest towards your face, you’ve got a problem.  Your options would be to either shave the hair or somehow reduce the testosterone levels in your body, because if your chest hair is connecting to your facial hair, you’re overproducing, bro.

Back Hair/Shoulders

Back hair was met with a united chorus of disgust by the women surveyed for this article.  It was the first thing that came to mind and the most reviled male body hair by far.  “There is nothing sexy about back hair,” says Mackenzie, 21.  “I hate back hair; it’s gross as hell.”  Her sentiments were shared by the entire group.  Women are turned off by any hair from your neck to the small of your back.  “I’d have to say the shoulders are my least favourite area,” says Carrie.  Mackenzie agreed, “ No one wants to see that. When [shoulder hair] is poking out from the t-shirt...that’s the worst.”  If you have tufts of hair hanging off your shoulders, head to a laser hair removal clinic quickly.  It will be well worth the charge.

Butt Hair

The second most commonly detested area for male body hair is undoubtedly the buttocks.  Though less offensive than back hair, butt bangs are not an attractive feature.  Molly, 29, is not a fan.  “When a man has a whole bunch of hair growing out of the top of his butt, that you can see when his shirt lifts up, I don’t like that.”  Other women agreed.  “When you’re feeling a boy’s butt and your hand is covered in hair...that’s disgusting,” said Carrie.  Having a baboon butt is a bit of a sticky situation because no self-respecting man is going shave his behind on a regular basis.  Waxing and laser removal are expensive but viable options to consider.  However, if you feel comfortable with your tush toupee or feel there are just too many trees to clear the forest, butt hair is not the worst thing you can have.  “I can stand a little bum hair,” said Mackenzie, but quickly added, “But too much makes me gag.”

the cards you’re dealt

When it comes to body hair, we’re all just playing the cards we were dealt.  A man might consciously grow shoulder-length hair but not shoulder hair.  While our butts might be smooth as babies, things can get hairy as we get older.  Whatever the case may be, don’t put too much stake in your body hair.  If you feel self-conscious about any the above mentioned areas, put your mind at ease and get it removed.  However, if you don’t mind looking like the missing link on the evolutionary scale, just consider that if women will say the above to a man, just think what they’re telling their girlfriends.

---Kitty's side note.  Hair done there?  Well some do and some don't.  What is your view?
